My boards
Build your communication board, name it, save it on this device, and export it to a backup file that you keep.
What you build here, boards, added words and photographs included, stays in the memory of this browser, on this device, under keys that begin withspeak.. Nothing is sent.
The exported file is the real backup: a browser that is cleaned out erases its memory.
This board contains at least one Mulberry symbol, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0: if you distribute it, it is shared under that same licence, on screen as on paper. See licence and re-use. This changes nothing about the use you make of it for yourself.
Choose symbols
Each symbol chosen here joins the board being built, above.
Add a word of your own
A word missing from the catalogue can be added with a photograph taken on this device.
My saved boards
Opening a board brings it back into the workshop above, to be changed.
Import a backup file
A file exported from Words Within Reach adds its boards to those already saved on this device. Any other file is refused, and nothing is changed.
mes-planches-speak.jsondownloaded with the “Export” button.
The backup file
The “Export the backup file” button downloads a file namedmes-planches-speak.json. This is the file you keep, send to someone close, or open on another device.
Importing this file adds the boards it contains: it never replaces the ones already saved. A board with the same name arrives alongside, never on top.
A file that is not a Words Within Reach backup is refused, and nothing is changed.
When this device keeps nothing
On some devices, the memory keeps nothing from one visit to the next. The tool stays usable during the session: building a board, trying it and printing it all remain possible, and the tool says so. What is lost is the memory from one time to the next: coming back later, the board is no longer there.
The answer is the exported file: it is kept off this device, and it can be re-imported at any time, on the same device or on another.
